Things are looking a little brighter today, even though I didn’t get very much sleep last night. I was a little stressed.
This morning, though, I found a Mexican breakfast within walking distance of my hotel. I also yelled at someone at Fox Rent-A-Car…and will do more of that later because it amuses me so. I’ve made other car arrangements, I have my luggage, and I’m about to go have lunch with a friend. So there’s hope…
What might one find at a Mexican breakfast?
Fox rent-a-car is crap. Wish I’d known you were trying to use them. In LA – stick to the majors.
Call the cops! You’ve been banned by Fox Rent-A-Car! I want to bust out a middle-school-esque, “Oooooh! I’m so scared, Fox!” Can’t wait to hear the story. 🙂
Ugh, Fox. My parents made the mistake of reserving a car with them about five years ago. When they got to their destination, Fox cheerfully informed them they had rented the reserved car out and had no intention of doing anything about it. They ended up signing on to a big class-action lawsuit against Fox (they were hardly the only Fox customers that had been shafted like this) and got compensated for having had to rent with someone else (without a reservation, and at a high price) because of the whole exercise.
They suck. It’s been almost impossible to get anyone to call me back about whatever the problem is. The woman at their office made some comment about a small outstanding balance from an earlier rental but then never provided any details so if this balance ever existed, which I doubt, they obviously were never particularly anxious to collect it. It sounds to me like some sort of cover up for the fact that they didn’t have a car for me.
Anyone know if California has some sort of regulatory body that oversees car rental companies?
