Here’s a hopeful scenario: Hurricane Joaquin hits the Carolina coast. By the time it reaches Winston-Salem it is a strong tropical storm that unleashes an EF5 tornado which completely levels the Kafka House. David collects a big insurance settlement and walks away from the empty lot, free at last.
There’s a certain appeal to that but it looks like the storm is not going to cooperate. You have, however, all but guaranteed that the house will forever be known as “Kafka House.” Thanks!
