Kansas City to St. Louis: the eastern and western extremes of Missouri. I have my first Waffle House sighting, finally land on Route 66, and get whiny about some potential car trouble.

I really loved that, and Kansas City was always a very important part of my youth. I’ve not been there in close to 10 years, but you are probably right that a lot of what is in the video is long gone. It really started to change dramatically around 1999 to 2000. It never had quite the “decay” of Rust Belt cities, but there was always a certain shabbiness and plenty of old brick buildings that made me love the place. And some great signage.
