Randomly Friday Again

I spent Thursday morning in a classroom at CPMC letting a group of about 12 residents feel my thyroid. I’ve always wanted to be a visual aid and I guess this was my chance. Somehow, though, I’d envisioned my first crack at it as being a little bit sexier…

It’s off to Monterey for Mark and me this weekend in a valiant effort to shield ourselves from the unpleasantness in the neighborhood on Sunday…

But the DSL seems to be functioning withing normal parameters now, and who knows? Maybe I’ll actually start spending some time online again soon. In a quick scan this morning, it was good to see that Jonno is back and that Joseph is updating regularly…

And hey, weeks after everyone else did it (OK, Mark is still doing it), I’ve written almost 80 of my “100 Things About Me”. Maybe I’ll post it at some point. Maybe I’ll even answer email at some point. Your guess is as good as mine…

Oh yeah. UPS sucks. Just wanted to throw that in…

Last but not least, here it is: 100 Things About Me

Thing number 101 is that I’m going to go do the dishes now…

Cheerwine Alert

By the way, did I mention my exciting news of the week? There’s actually locally-purchased Cheerwine in my refrigerator. It’s expensive as all get-out (about the price of imported beer or microbrews) and it comes in these retro glass bottles, but it’s now available to Californians who venture to Beverages & More…

Good collards, Krispy Kreme, and now Cheerwine. It’s nice to see a bit of civilization come to a cultural backwater like San Francisco. If I could just come up with a source for Neese’s Liver Pudding, I could finally show these cretins how to live right…

Haven’t gotten far with the email, but I did finish some actual new content at Planet SOMA. It’s a look at an exciting new fall TV season. And it’s probably not exactly what you’re thinking it is…

No Plans

Mark‘s gone to Fresno for the weekend and I’ve made no specific plans for the day other than to catch up on about a month’s worth of email and maybe to work on a special feature. So watch this space. Or your inbox. Or both…

This, of course, assumes that it’s not miserably, insufferably hot like it’s been for the past three days. In which case I’ll be hanging out in the frozen food section at Safeway all day…

Offline

I’ve been online (work-related stuff excluded) for an average of about 5-10 minutes a day for the past couple of weeks. And you know what? I haven’t really missed it…
